Professional Development Sessions

Lead evidence-based workshops and professional development sessions designed to enhance clinicians’ understanding of developmental delays, autism, and sensory processing disorder, and strengthen their clinical effectiveness with neurodivergent clients across settings.

  • Train clinicians to identify, anticipate, and manage sensory triggers commonly encountered in medical environments, with practical strategies to reduce patient distress, support regulation, and increase successful completion of exams, procedures, and daily care tasks.
  • Develop clinicians’ therapeutic use of self, emphasizing co-regulation and calming techniques that build trust, support emotional safety, and promote engagement for neurodivergent clients.
  • Teach the application of desensitization protocols and graded exposure techniques to improve cooperation, tolerance for care, and long-term participation in routine medical or therapeutic procedures.
  • Guide clinicians in creating realistic plans of care that supports the needs of the client, including how to identify potential barriers, leverage existing supports, and integrate strategies that improve functional outcomes.
